Community
Downey Trees is a locally owned and operated
company within the Metro Atlanta area. As
such we take great pride in our community
and donate our time, expertise, staff and
equipment to various projects throughout the
year.
As custodians of the environment we
encourage others to recycle. In partnership
with the Gwinnett County Clean and
Beautiful we have developed an annual
recycling program of Christmas trees for the
local community. The trees are deposited by
the homeowners at a predetermined location,
we then transport all of the necessary
equipment to the site and recycle the trees.

Within Betty Mauldin Park, Norcross,
Georgia is the states co-champion Elm
tree; this magnificent specimen is a
pleasure to behold and a joy to the
local community. With tree conservation
as a top priority to our company we,
with the blessing of the city council,
have established a maintenance program
for this tree, which is provided for
free.
On a yearly basis deadwood is removed
from within the canopy while nutrients
and biostimulants are applied to the
root zone. In addition this tree is
receiving systemic injections which aid
in prevention of Dutch Elm Disease.
